Ameritech is the local telephone service provider and AT&T is the long distance carrier for the University administrative telephones. Faculty and staff should utilize the Telephone Services Request Form for installs, moves, or disconnects and the Telephone Repair Services Form when other service or repairs are necessary.
Planning continues on updating the campus administrative Cohort telephone systems to the newer Panasonic systems within the next few years.
Residents may make on-campus and local calls free of charge. To make an on-campus call, just pick up the phone and dial the 4-digit on campus number. To make a local call, dial "9" to get off campus and then dial the 7-digit local number.
Long distance calls may be made with calling cards.
All telephone or line repairs and local dialing problems should be
reported to residence hall staff or to FredNet.
