Status Indicators

Outlook Express 5 is commonly installed on Macintosh computers running
MacOS 9. It is free and fairly easy to use, especially for users with multiple
email accounts. The information found on this page, as well as a great deal
of additional information about using Outlook Express is available within
the application under the Help menu. |
Message Status
Some of these indicators are for outgoing messages and may not
apply to messages in your Inbox

unread (Inbox) or sendable message |

read (Inbox) or unsendable message |

Replied |

Redirected |
 |
Forwarded |

Sent |
 |
Unsent message |
 |
Flagged (you have flagged this message) |

Edited (this message has been changed) |
Server Status Indicators
These indicate whether the contents of the message have been downloaded from
the mail server or marked for deletion on the server
 |
Message headers (From, Date, Size, Subject) have been downloaded. An Internet
connection is required to read this message. |
 |
Message body and possibly parts of attachments have been downloaded. The
message can be read without an Internet connection, but attachments cannot
be viewed. |
 |
Message and attachments completely downloaded. |
 |
Message has been marked to be deleted. |
