Installing the Clean Access Agent for Windows
After you login on the falconair web page for the first time, if you are using Microsoft Windows, you will likely be prompted to install the Clean Access Agent. The web page that appears after you login has a button for downloading the software. Click the button and you will see the dialog below. Click Run or Save. If you click Save, take note of where it is you are saving the installer.
Once the software has been downloaded, double click CCAAgent_Setup.exe. If you chose Run above, the Clean Access Agent installation will begin. Just click Next until the software is installed and then click Finish.
Next you will see the Clean Access login screen. Login with your Falcon Account.

Clean Access Agent checks
To insure the safest possible wireless computing environment, the Clean Access Agent checks three things.
- That you have antivirus software installed
- That your antivirus software is up-to-date
- That Windows is up-to-date with critical patches.
It takes only a few moments to check these three things. If your computer passes all three checks, you will see the screen below. Just click OK. Your computer now has wireless network access

Antivirus software is not installed
If your computer does not have a recognized antivirus software package installed, you will be see a dialog box explaining that. There is a button in the dialog box that will open a web page where you may download McAfee antivirus software. UW-River Falls has a site-license that allows students, faculty, and staff to download and install McAfee Antivirus on their personal computers. You may only install it on your own computer and only if you are not a student, faculty member, or staff.
IT Services does not support other antivirus packages, but the following list of products may also pass the Cisco Clean Access requirement.

Once your antivirus software is installed, click Next to proceed.
Antivirus software is not up-to-date
If your antivirus software is not up-to-date, you will be asked to update it before proceeding. In many cases there will be an update button in the dialog box that will automatically launch your antivirus software’s update process. Once your software is up-to-date, click Next to proceed.
Windows needs critical updates
To keep the wireless network safe and secure for everyone, UW-River Falls requires that your Windows computer be up-to-date before using the wireless network. If you need Windows Updates, you’ll see a dialog box telling you so. To update your computer, follow the steps below.
- Click the Go To Link… button in the dialog box. This will launch Windows Update in Internet Explorer
- Click the Express button. The Windows Update site will examine your computer for needed updates and display them in a list.
- Click Install Updates. Accept any license agreements that may be displayed. The Windows Updates will be downloaded and installed.
- When the updates are complete, restart your computer if you are prompted to do so. If you are not prompted to restart, just close Internet Explorer, return to the Clean Access Agent and click Next.
- You should be informed that you have successfully logged in and can begin using the wireless network.
