How to use the Keyspan remote mouse

The key keyspan remote may be used to control the computer while away from it.

1) The blue button on the top activates the laser pointer. Before it can be used, the laser feature must be turned on. To do this, hold down the blue button on top and the clear button (labeled 5 in the illustration) for about 4 seconds. The clear button will flash red. You may now use the laser pointer by pressing the blue button. To turn the laser feature off, hold down buttons 1 and 5 again.

2) The button on the top right side of the remote is similar to the scroll wheel on a normal mouse. You can use this button to go to the next slide in PowerPoint presentations.

3) The gray circle in the middle of the remote will move the cursor around on the screen.

4) The silver wing-shaped button acts as your left and right mouse buttons.

5) Pressing this clear button will lock the remote, preventing any other buttons from functioning. The button glows greenwhen the remote is locked. Press this button again to turn off the green light and unlock the remote.

Some TEC rooms have a separate remote mouse for the Windows and Macintosh computers.
