Student Payroll application causes Internet Explorer 7 to close

When the Student Payroll application is started using Internet Explorer 7, the application may close unexpectedly with a windows error message. The problem may be avoided by using a new Internet Explorer 7 window. Please follow the instructions below to successfully launch Student Payroll using Internet Explorer 7.

  1. Right-click your Windows desktop and select New > Shortcut.
  2. Copy and paste the following line into the Create Shortcut wizard that appears: (note: adjust the path to iexplore.exe if your computer has Internet Explorer installed at a different location)
    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://studentpayroll.services.wisc.edu/pyapbs_jinit.html
  3. When prompted, name the new shortcut Student Payroll and click Finish.
  4. Double-clicking the new shortcut will successfully launch the Student Payroll application.
