End of Semester tasks and information
for students

The end of a semester or school year is a good time to think about cleaning up your data files and email. You can also make special arrangements concerning your computer accounts if you are graduating.

Periodically we ask that you take a moment to maintain your disk storage area and clean up your files. There is a 100mb quota on your home directory, including both the home and web areas. These are the S: and W: drives for Windows users and the Homes volume for Macintosh users. Also please clean up any files you do not need in the P: drive or Courses volume.

Delete messages that you no longer need in your email account.  Student email accounts have a 50mb quota.   Delete the items in your trash folder. File attachments take an especially large amount of space. If you go over the 50mb limit, you will not receive email messages as you will be over quota. Please use the support pages here to help you:

If you are graduating or leaving the university, your access to email and your personal web pages will remain available for one year after the semester ends. Hopefully this will give you ample time to coordinate job searches and communication. Your access to eSIS will continue indefinitely. Lab login and other network resources may be discontinued at any time once you are not taking classes.

Check list for students leaving the university.
