Viewing falcondaily and students email

The falcondaily@uwrf.edu and students@uwrf.edu email lists are a means for sharing general information with faculty, staff and students of UW-River Falls. These lists may be viewed in three different ways.

1. The messages are placed in public email folders that may be viewed with any imap email client.
2. The messages are placed in web archives that may be viewed with a web browser.
3. Campus faculty, staff, and students may subscribe to these lists so the messages are emailed personally to them.

To view facstf-l or students email messages in your email client, please follow one of the links below. If your email client is not listed, you may still find helpful information by following one of these links.

• Eudora for Windows
• Outlook Express or Entourage for Macintosh
• SquirrelMail

Here are some helpful facts about shared folders.

• Messages stay in the falcondaily and students shared folders for 60 days. They are kept indefinitely in the web archives (see below)
• Since the falcondaily and students folders are available to everyone, they are read-only.
• You can read messages in these folders, but cannot delete them.
• You cannot place other messages in these folders.
• Since they are not your personal mailboxes, they do not count against your email quota.
• If someone has shared a folder with you it will appear under user. Whether you can change or add to folders which belong to someone else will depend upon whether that person granted read-only or read and write access.

View web archives using a web browser

You can use Internet Explorer, Netscape, or another web browser to view archives of the students and facstf-l mailing lists. To do this, just click on the appropriate link below. You may wish to bookmark the page for future reference.

Subscribe to a mailing list for personal delivery

If you prefer, you can have falcondaily or students email messages sent directly to your personal email. If you do decide to do this, it will arrive with your regular, personal email messages. You may receive these mailing list messages as individual messages or in digest form. Digest form means the messages will be compiled into a single message which you will receive once a day or so. Some people find this a more convenient way to receive mailing lists.
