Computer viruses are a growing problem for everyone who uses computer technology. Getting a computer virus can cause significant loss of data and time. It can also be a cause of real embarrassment if you are guilty of inadvertently passing on computer viruses to your colleagues. To help UW-RF students, faculty and staff protect themselves from computer viruses, we have licensed McAfee VirusScan for Windows users and Virex or VirusScan for Macintosh users.
