Where can I get Audio-visual (A/V) equipment?
If I need help setting it up, who do I ask?
My equipment doesn’t work!! What do I do?
How do I set up this equipment?
Televisions and VCR machines are distributed around campus. You can reserve them for Student Center and Rodli Commons events by contacting the Reservations office in the University Center. The Reservations office also has other equipment for use in these buildings. Please check with that office for more information. A number of classrooms on campus already contain TVs and VCRs. If the classroom you are using does not have this equipment, it can be obtained from various academic departments on campus. We've gathered information about those locations here. The technology-enhance classroom teacher stations are also equipped with both VCRs and campus cable feeds that are projected by means of a permanently installed LCD projector.
LCD projectors and laptop computers can be borrowed from Davee Library. Some academic departments have their own slide projectors, so checking with your department is also advised. Transparency Transparency Projectors are located in almost every classroom on campus. If the room that you plan to use does not have one, please contact IT Services.
IT Services-Media Services will perform setups of audiovisual equipment such as televisions, computer projectors, and sound systems only for University special events and conferences. We believe this is the only reasonable strategy that will permit us to keep up with the large and growing demand for access to electronic presentation technologies. We will, however, provide training as needed.
If you need assistance with this equipment, please contact IT Services. We will relay the information to the Media Services Technician who will be more than happy to assist you. Please indicate the dates and times of your event so the A/V staff can plan preparation times accordingly. If you have preferred times that you want setup or teardown to occur, please indicate this with your request.
In case you do have trouble, please contact IT Services. If you need immediate assistance, call us. The Media Services Technician will be notified and dispatched to your location immediately. If it is a non-emergency repair issue, the Helpdesk will prepare a trouble ticket and direct it to the technician.
You may request a training session when you reserve equipment. The Media Services Technician or other qualified IT Services staff member can demonstrate how to set up any of the A/V equipment here on campus. We also hope to provide specific instructions in this location for some of the equipment in this location soon.
