Special Technology Committee (STC) application

The Special Technology Committee (STC) is looking for students interested in serving on the committee for 2006-2007.

The STC is a committee appointed by the Student Senate to review and make recommendations regarding the allocation of Special Technology Fee funding. Special Technology Fee funding supports student Internet and email access, IT Services HelpDesk assistance for students, extended lab hours, hardware and software support for computer labs, Internet resources, and some purchases of new equipment. The STC also serves in an advisory capacity regarding campus-wide student information technology needs.

There are eight student seats and we need four or five new members for 2006-2007. If you are interested in serving, please reply to this email and fill in the information below. To fill the remaining vacancies, we will consider background, qualifications, and balance of representation from all academic areas of the University.

Meetings times are to be determined. Because of student schedules they are usually held early in the evening, starting at 5:00 or 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursdays. New members should be able to meet at such a time.
Are you likely to be available at that time?

Additional comments, if any:

The Student Technology Committee will meet about five times during fall semester. About three meetings are required early second semester. After that, meetings are fewer in number and serve principally to provide student input to long-term technology issues.

If you have other questions about the STC, please contact Lisa Wheeler in Information Technology Services at 425-3737, or email lisa.wheeler@uwf.edu
