Computer Retention Request

When computers are replaced under the faculty/staff computer replacement program, departments have the option of retaining the computer being replaced for other uses. This option is subject to the guidelines of UW-River Falls Administrative Policy Paper 39.

Please get approval from the head of your department or unit ahead of time. This request is also subject to approval by IT Services, which may place conditions on an approval that result in expenses for your department such as purchasing additional memory and/or up-to-date software for the computer being replaced. IT Services will erase the hard drive of the computer and re-install needed software as part of the repurposing. If a newer version of software than was previously on the computer or a network jack activation to connect it to the network is needed, please use the appropriate related link below.
