Internet browsing, third in a four part series on browsers that will prepare you for rich user experiences on the Internet.
The title of this tip, "your favorite bookmark" has a double meaning. Some browsers call it "favorites" and some browsers call it "bookmarks". They both mean the same thing. A favorite or bookmark is simply a saved link so that you can easily find that link again.
Last week we spoke about tabs and organizing your most currently used websites. With favorites you can also store many links and categorize them to keep your list of favorites orderly.
To create a favorite (depending on your browser...for this example we will use Internet Explorer 7) simply navigate to your website, then click on the "green and yellow stars" button usually near the top right, and menu will come up to add it to your favorite list. Now don't just start adding links out there at random. As you use this more often, begin to create specified folders to categorize similar links in. That way you won't have so much clutter built up.
If you have already been creating favorites but haven't heeded the message of don't just add links out there, then you can begin to organize your favorites. To do this, simply click on the same "green and yellow stars" button and choose "organize favorites" from the menu. From this menu you can see your favorites, create new folders, move, rename or delete websites.
